Abandoned

Abandoned is a short book that explores the abandoned hospitals and mental asylums within New York. Due to New York City’s high population, there were many hospitals built in the surrounding areas to care for the city’s sick and mentally ill. As medicine has progressed and new hospitals have been built, many of these buildings lay in ruins. Looking through these hospitals, you can see relics of a terrifying time, when lobotomies and electroshock therapy were the norm. This book visits 15 of these forgotten facilities, looking into their pasts and seeing if there may be any lingering spirits within its walls. Several pages of the book include AR images.
